Dmitry Medvedev found a luxury yacht “Universe”, which he hid in Sochi
Until recently, the yacht Universe was located in Italy, but with the outbreak of war in Ukraine, it was urgently transferred to Istanbul, and from there to the Russian port.
With the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Russian oligarchs urgently began to hide their yachts. True, not everyone did. Most of the expensive ships registered through offshore companies are now in Turkey, and former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has decided to move his “Universe” to a more reliable location, Sochi. Proekt.Media writes about it
Previously, it was known that he owned a small ship “Fotinia”, which spent the winter in the Finnish city of Kotka.
But Russian journalists learned that the Medvedev family is not limited to a yacht. The “Universe” yacht, of course, does not officially belong to Dmitry Medvedev.
It was built by Damen Yachting in the Netherlands in 2018 and registered by Southerner Ltd, off the coast of the Cayman Islands, whose true owner is confidential.
At the beginning of the war in Ukraine, he anchored in Italy, after which he was transferred to Istanbul, and then to Sochi, where he is now.
According to official sources, “Universe” can comfortably accommodate 12 passengers in six cabins, served by a staff of 19 people. The length of the yacht is 74 meters, the cost is more than 100 million dollars.
Medvedev’s son, Ilya Medvedev, and Maxim Yusufov, schoolmates of former Energy Minister billionaire Igor Yusufov, rested on this yacht in 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic was in full force.
Russian journalists state that the owner of the yacht is the Yusufov family, but the Medvedevs own it. In the “Universe” the former president and prime minister have an office and private communications, and in the territorial waters of the Russian Federation he is often accompanied by Navy ships.
This is confirmed by sources in Turkey, and in Sochi, where the yacht is now standing, it is simply called “Medvedev’s”.
Journalists believe that the Yusufov family, these are actually Dmitry Medvedev’s trustees, and most things that are supposedly the property of a billionaire actually belong to the former president.
Recall that before the war in Ukraine, Ilya Medvedev lived in the United States, and after allegedly (Dmitry Medvedev refused this) a work visa, and after Medvedev Jr. returned to Russia, he was closely involved in the IT business.
There, he joined the United Russia party on June 22, 2022, stating that he would try to apply his knowledge “correctly in areas that are important to the people and the country.”
Ilya, 27, said, “I plan to develop children’s and amateur sports, develop projects to improve education and health, support entrepreneurship, create processes in the field of import substitution and digital transformation of the state, party and business world.” , but there has been no news about him since then.
